Born and raised in Central Idaho's rugged and wild landscapes, Eizaak Jordan has always had a strong connection with nature. He has spent his life exploring and enjoying natural areas throughout the American West. His love for the outdoors has inspired him to work towards introducing more people to these beautiful places and preserving our precious ecosystems. Eizaak received his bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a focus on environmental politics and policy. He has worked with various organizations that serve to protect and conserve nature across the American West.
Eizaak is thrilled to be a part of Vive Northwest, an organization that shares his passion for getting diverse communities outside and protecting natural areas. Working with Vive Northwest has been inspiring and uplifting, allowing him to see a brighter future for our relationship with the natural world.

Serving as the Executive Director and Founder of Vive NW, Jorge F. Guzman has over 15 years of experience working in the private, non-profit and public sectors. Outside of Vive NW, Jorge is also the co-founder of Hispanicpros (now a program of Vive NW) and managing partner at Versicube.com and TV Jam.
Guzman served as an Economic Development Consultant for the City of Gresham in the State of Oregon. Under this role, he consulted on the development and implementation of a Catalyst Site, an economic development engine aimed to provide access to healthy food, education, healthcare, technology and business development opportunities. Guzman has also served on advisory committees for Business Oregon (Oregon’s Economic Development agency), Travel Oregon (Oregon’s Tourism Agency) and Metro (Regional Government) to help shape policies and strategies around, economic development, entrepreneurship, tourism, diversity, inclusion and innovation.
Previous to his current titles, Guzman worked at Hacienda CDC, a Latino Community Development Corporation. During his tenure at Hacienda CDC, Guzman managed Hacienda CDC’s Mortgage Payment Assistance Program, a multimillion dollar program that served approximately 4,000 families who were facing home foreclosures in Multnomah County. After successfully completing this three year project, Guzman transitioned to the Economic Development department. During this time, Guzman also became part of the development team for The “Portland Mercado” a Latino themed market that serves as a business incubator for low-income entrepreneurs.
Prior to his work at Hacienda CDC, Guzman was the Operations and Compliance Manager for McGee Wealth Management, Inc. Former Portland Mayor Charlie Hales and city commissioners appointed Guzman in 2015-2016 as Board Commissioner for Home Forward (formally known as the Portland Housing Authority), where he served as treasurer. Guzman was also appointed by Portland State University to serve as an expert in public policy and housing affairs and advisor for the development of the Master of Public Policy program. Jorge Guzman is committed to serving and making a positive impact and change through his work.
Guzman earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing and a certificate in Food and Retail management from Portland State University. Guzman also holds a certificate in Nonprofit Management from the University of Texas in San Antonio, TX. Guzman is multilingual, multicultural, and an avid traveler, having spent time trekking through Latin America, Asia, and Europe. Guzman enjoys hiking, running surfing, snowshoeing, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Mexican photographer Passionate about nature and connecting with the Hispanic community. She currently holds the position of Outreach and Communications Specialist at Vive NW.
Her childhood and part of her life in Mexico inspired her to explore forests, mountains, beaches and developed a deep appreciation for the biodiversity of natural ecosystems. This connection with nature led her to study photography, where she found a way to express and share his ability through a camera.
In her role as an outreach and communication specialist at Vive NW, Roxana creates content that informs, inspires, and educates about the importance of conserving and enjoying the beauty of the natural world. It also connects with information that helps and is of great interest to the Hispanic community.

I am Mexican and a graphic designer, passionate about branding and visual communication. I really enjoy my profession and I am very happy to see my designs finished and fulfilling their purpose.
I like being a volunteer in altruistic work such as in hospitals and nursing homes. Another activity that I also really enjoy is hiking, since it allows me to connect with nature and enjoy incredible landscapes.
I really enjoy working for VIVE NW, a company that cares about integrating the community with nature and that also promotes actions to preserve and care for our planet.
Valeria Villanueva is a first-generation Mexican who grew up in Oregon and now calls the Pacific Northwest her home. She earned her degree in Communication Studies from Western Oregon and is excited to be part of Vive NW where she can act as a cultural bridge and be a voice in the conversation about diversifying the outdoor identity.Valeria has a passion for creating a more equitable, safe, and inclusive environment for all communities. Through this passion, she is committed to sharing her love for the natural world to restore the connection between humanity and the outdoors.
When she is not in the office, you can find her reading, swimming, hiking, and discovering Oregon’s forests, mountains, and natural lands.
Born in the heart of Mexico City, Víctor Velasco found his passion for nature at an early age while traveling around his country before immigrating to the United States. Living in Oregon, a state with diverse landscapes, Victor continued to explore his passion in his new home.
He is currently studying to obtain his Bachelor's Degree in Digital Marketing and International Studies at Portland State University. His work experience in non-profit organizations serving the Hispanic community has helped connect Spanish-speaking people with nature.
Victor works tirelessly to design authentic experiences that allow people to explore, learn, and marvel at the biodiversity and serenity that the natural environment offers in the region. His commitment and passion are palpable in every event and outing he coordinates, creating unforgettable moments for all who participate.
Someday Victor hopes to live in different parts of the world to appreciate the beauty of the world's diversity.
Murphy has an unrelenting sense of curiosity and spreads joy with every wag of his tail. He is the ultimate outdoor adventurer and loves embracing all the sights and smells during hikes in the PNW. Murphy strongly believes in conservation and aims to protect all of the wonderful species he shares our natural world with.
